- Heisman Trophy candidate Melvin Gordon of Wisconsin poses with Mickey Mouse on Wednesday, the eve of the Home Depot College Football Awards at Walt Disney World Resort. The Wisconsin running back is a finalist for the Maxwell Award for best overall player and Doak Walker Award for the nation's best running back. Gordon led the nation with 2,336 yards rushing and 179.7 yards per game. He broke the single-game Football Bowl Subdivision rushing record with 408 yards against Nebraska on Nov. 15.

The Oregon QB is a finalist for the Maxwell Award for best overall player and Davey O’Brien Award for best quarterback. Mariota, from Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Oregon Ducks will be competing in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2015 in the first-ever College Football Playoffs. Cooper is a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award for best receiver. Cooper, originally from Miami, Fla., and his Alabama teammates will be competing in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, 2015 in the first-ever College Football Playoffs.
