Elite Central Florida Teams Competing in Disney Cross Country Classic This Weekend

Chamberlain, King and Lake Howell among 24 elite high school teams across the nation going the distance at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex; Event shown live on ESPN3

 

What:             

Local cross country teams from Chamberlain High School (Tampa, Fla.), King High School (Tampa, Fla.) and Lake Howell High School (Winter Park, Fla.) are expected to compete in the elite race at the 19th annual Disney Cross Country Classic presented by New Balance. As the premier event for cross country runners, the Disney Cross Country Classic will attract 4,700 athletes from numerous colleges, high schools and middle schools across 21 states.

Other elite teams competing include the Lake Braddock High School (Burke, Va.) boys team, ranked No. 1 in the Southeast Region, and girls team, ranked No. 4 in the region.

Saturday’s competition will be shown live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN mobile application from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

8:50 a.m. – Chamberlain High School and King High School girls race

9:20 a.m. – Lake Howell High School boys race
