Florida, Miami Among Teams in 2016 AdvoCare Invitational

2016 marks the first time the Gators and Hurricanes will play in the tournament in the event’s 10-year history

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2015)  – The Miami Hurricanes and the Florida Gators are among the eight teams competing in the 2016 AdvoCare Invitational at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. The annual Thanksgiving tournament announced its field for next year over the weekend.

The Gators and Hurricanes headline a field that includes Gonzaga, Iowa State, Indiana State, Quinnipiac, Seton Hall and Stanford.  Three of the teams are ranked: No. 4 Iowa State, No. 10 Gonzaga and No. 15 Miami.

The Canes recently have had success in early-season tournaments, winning the Puerto Rico Tip-Off this year and the Charleston Classic last year. For the Gators, it will be their third straight appearance in a neutral-site tournament, having competed in the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas and the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut this year.

The 2016 AdvoCare Invitational is Nov. 24, 25, and 27.
