Cal Ripken Jr. may be best known for the legendary things he did during his 21 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Baltimore Orioles, but this holiday season, the Hall-of-Famer showed he’s just as capable narrating a story as he is being the focus of one.

From Dec. 28-30, Ripken Jr. joined the ranks of celebrities who have lended their voices to narrate the Candlelight Processional at the American Gardens Theatre at Epcot. Backed by a 50-piece orchestra and choir singers adorned in green and gold robes, Ripken Jr. told the biblical Christmas story to the delight of thousands of Walt Disney World guests. Ripken Jr. was the final Candlelight Processional narrator for the 2016 season.

This was Ripken Jr.’s first time narrating the Candlelight Processional, an annual event that is one of the most popular holiday experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. Each winter, Holidays Around the World transforms Epcot into an international celebration replete with festive decorations and live entertainment.

Other 2016 Candlelight Processional narrators included: Steven Curtis Chapman, Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, Edward James Olmos, Anthony Mackie, Robby Benson, Meredith Vieira, Jim Caviezel, Joe Morton, Ming-Na Wen and Jodi Benson.
