Soccer superstar Marta recently signed with the Orlando Pride National Women’s Soccer League team, so naturally, her next move was to visit Walt Disney World Resort and meet Mickey Mouse.

The Brazilian soccer legend took a break from training with her new team and had a little fun this week at Walt Disney World Resort. Marta, widely regarded as the best female soccer player of all time, spent some time at the Magic Kingdom where she posed with Mickey Mouse in front of Cinderella Castle.

On the pitch, Marta is getting settled with the Pride, having joined the club on April 21 after leaving her previous club, FC Rosengård in Sweden.

In her career, Marta has been named FIFA World Player of the Year five consecutive times (2006-2010), holds the record for most goals scored in FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments (15) and won both the Golden Ball award (best player) and Golden Boot award (top scorer) in the 2007 Women’s World Cup.

Marta’s visit comes on the heels of another important soccer moment, as Walt Disney World Resort recently announced a partnership with IdeaSports, LLC to bring a youth soccer training academy to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex that will be sponsored by LaLiga.

Through the multi-year agreement, the training program presented by LaLiga and Walt Disney World Resort will provide a holistic approach to soccer education with proven, year-round training, education and development for youth soccer athletes as well as training for coaches and officials.
