Four Florida teams play for National Championships on Friday, Dec. 8th at 61st annual Pop Warner Super at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Four teams from the state of Florida have earned their way into championship games on Friday at the Pop Warner Super Bowl National Tournament currently being played at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Resort.  Teams from Jacksonville, Palm Beach, Tampa and Ocoee have each won their opening two games and have all advanced to the championship game of their respective divisions.

In the Division II Jr. Pee Wee classification, Creeks Outlaws (Jacksonville, FL) will play the Waianae Tigers (O’ahu, Hawaii) on Friday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m.  The Tigers are the first team from Hawaii to advance to the championship game of the Pop Warner Super Bowl tournament.

In the Division II Pee Wee final, the Palm Beach Garden Gators (Palm Beach, FL) will take on the Point Loma Pointers (San Diego, CA) on Friday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m.  At 1:15 p.m. on Friday, the Division II Junior Varsity Pop Warner championship will be decided when the Westchase Colts (Tampa, FL) battle the West Haven Seahawks (West Haven, Connecticut).  Rounding out Friday’s championship game action are the Ocoee Bulldogs (Ocoee, FL), who will take on the Ferndale Eagles (Detroit, Michigan) at 3:15 p.m.

National champions will be crowned in five divisions based on age and weight – Jr. Pee Wee (ages 8-11), Pee Wee (ages 9-12), Jr. Varsity (ages 10-13), Unlimited (11-14, 105-lb. minimum) and Varsity (ages 12-15).  The teams that advanced to the Pop Warner Super Bowl won their respective league championship and their regional championship.  Each advancing team is guaranteed to play two games at the Super Bowl, with a National Champion crowned in each age-weight division and competition level.
