Incredible Summer for Youth Sports Continues at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex kicked off an Incredible Summer of sports during Memorial Day Weekend by staging three major events — the Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament presented by Danimals, the Disney Memorial Day Baseball Classic and the AAU Memorial Day Basketball Classic.  Combined, these events involved more than 16,000 athletes and coaches, making it one of the most active weekends of the year at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. Even more top youth sports events await athletes, coaches and fans this summer at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, including the Disney Labor Day Baseball Classic (Aug. 31-Sept. 3). Between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend, more than 77,000 athletes across 19 sports will compete on fields, diamonds, courts and other venues at the sports complex with events ranging from elite basketball tournaments to a soccer training program.

This “Incredible Summer’’ of sports at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is part of an Incredible Summer of family fun at Walt Disney World Resort, highlighted by the June 30 opening of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Also this summer, Donald’s Dino-Bash! at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, creating a lively celebration with festive decor and meet-and-greets galore. And super heroes take center stage at Magic Kingdom  of the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo.
