More Than 40,000 Participants Competing in 45th Annual AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships

The AAU Girls Junior National Volleyball Championships, arguably the world’s largest volleyball tournament, is taking place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex through June 28.

This year, the event is expected to draw more than 40,000 athletes and 600 collegiate volleyball coaches as the top prep volleyball players in the nation compete for national titles in various divisions. The field also includes teams from China, Brazil, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Slovenia.

The championship games in some age divisions will air live on WatchESPN and the WatchESPN application from the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex’s broadcast center, which has become the worldwide leader in ESPN3 content production.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is the premier site for amateur sports in the nation.  The complex hosts more than 100 entertainment and sporting events each year and has accommodated 70 different sports featuring athletes from 70 different countries.
