For the second consecutive year, auditions for ABC’s “American Idol” contestants took place at Walt Disney World Resort.
The search for Season 2 contestants of the beloved competition series took place this past Saturday, Aug. 25 at The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The auditions continued the 20-plus city search for the next singing sensation across America that will offer artists and singers the chance to audition for a shot at superstardom.
Last year’s “American Idol” auditions took place at Disney Springs.
ABC’s “American Idol” Season 1 winner Maddie Poppe, runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson and finalist Catie Turner made special guest appearances during Saturday’s auditions at Disney.
“American Idol” returns for its second season on ABC for the 2018-2019 season with all-star judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Emmy®-winning producer Ryan Seacrest will also return as host.
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, located at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, is a 220-acre facility that hosts more than 100 entertainment and sporting events each year.
