  • There were 8,200 runners in the inaugural Walt Disney World Marathon in 1994. 25 years later, 25,500 runners will take their place at the marathon start line.

  • Over 808,000 runners have participated in all Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend events in 25 years.

  • For marathon alone, over 363,000 runners have participated in the Walt Disney World Marathon in 25 years.

  • In the last 25 years, more than 14 million miles have been run during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend (includes marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K races). Of those 14 million, 9.5 million have been run for the marathon alone.

  • An American has only won the Walt Disney World Marathon three times, the last of which was Matthew Dobson (Jay, FL), who won the marathon 13 years ago. American women have won in the female division 11 times, including three from Central Florida.

  • A Brazilian runner has won the Walt Disney World Marathon every year since 2004, including Adriano Bastos with six consecutive wins and Fredison Costa with six victories in the last seven years.

  • 76 “perfects” (runners who have participated in every Walt Disney World Marathon) are registered for the 2018 race, including 45 runners from Florida.
