- (Jan. 10, 2019): Army veteran Eric Donoho, from Indianapolis, Ind., celebrates with his family after completing the Walt Disney World 5K race during the 26th annual Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna. With support from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of American (IAVA) program funded by a Cigna grant, the resilient Donoho turned to running as a means to cope with many personal life struggles, such as traumatic injuries sustained to his head, neck and brain during combat overseas, his wifeÕs cancer diagnosis and several miscarriages, and losing two military buddies to suicide. Buoyed by the fact that his wife was eventually able to deliver two healthy children, he ran the Walt Disney World 5K as a triumph over his challenges.
