- (Aug. 6-11, 2019) - The U.S. Central girls’ team pose with the championship trophy won Sunday (Aug 11) during the Jr. NBA Global Championship Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. The Central girls’ team – playing out of Kansas City, Mo., defeated Team Canada, 72-35 to claim their second consecutive Jr. NBA Global championship en route to a 4-0 tournament record. The U.S. West team – playing out of Los Angeles, Calif., -- defeated Team Africa, 70-61 on their way to a 6-1 tournament record. A total of 32 teams from 40 countries participated in the event that ran Aug. 6-11 at Disney. The six-day global event showcased the top 14U boys’ and girls’ teams from the United States and around the world, including countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Italy, the United Kingdom and Mexico.
