(Dec. 8, 2016) – 2016 Disney Sports Spirit Award winner James Conner poses with the Spirit Award trophy alongside Disney Sports Vice President Faron Kelley. Kelley and ESPN’s Holly Rowe and Shelley Smith presented Conner with the trophy at the College Football Awards on Dec. 8 in Atlanta, Ga. The award is given to the most inspirational figure in college football. Conner was recognized for returning to the field this season with the Pittsburgh Panthers as one of the top ACC running backs after a six-month battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
