New York Runner’s Inspiring Quest to Run the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon with One Lung

(Nov. 1-4, 2018): Debbie Rogers, the 55-year old Westchester, N.Y., finished the 13.1-mile Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon with only one healthy lung, as a result of lung cancer doctors discovered roughly 10 months ago, after she completed the 26.2-mile Disney Marathon in January. Rogers credits runDisney with saving her life, as she sustained a foot injury that caused her to seek medical attention, where doctors then discovered that she had lung cancer. After having a quarter of her lung removed, Rogers returned to running and participated in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon as a triumph over cancer.
