ESPN Wide World of Sports to Host International Basketball Global Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. (July 26, 2012) – On Monday, August 13, 2012, Dailey Training, an elite international skills development organization, will kick off the 2012 International Basketball Global Cup at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex located in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The tournament will feature 32 boys and girls teams from ages 10 to 18; including International teams from Australia, Canada, Brazil, Bermuda, Ireland, and the Philippines. The Dailey Training International Basketball Academy will be held on Monday, August 13th and Tuesday, August 14th. The opening ceremony for the Global Cup games will begin on Wednesday, August 15th with the Championship games played on Saturday, August 18th. The best Youth Basketball teams from around the World will converge and compete.

The Global Cup youth tournament attracting teams from more than seven countries will offer team’s the opportunity to compete and train with former NBA and WNBA professional players. Players confirmed to appear and train will be; Anthony Parker (NBA), Pat Burke (NBA), Tree Rollins (NBA/WNBA Coach), Shell Dailey (WNBA), Derrick Sharp (USF/International Pro player), and Eric Dailey (NBA, International Professional player).

Dailey Training’s International Basketball Academy has also added Tom Shaw, a renowned speed and conditioning coach who has trained NFL athletes for more than 16 years. Shaw trains players by emphasizing his SPARQ philosophy: Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness. Shaw has helped develop some of the top NFL players including; Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Jay Cutler, Ike Taylor and Deion Sanders. Shaw cares as much about helping Youth players as he does helping professional players.

Eric Dailey, President of Dailey Training, Inc. is an Ocala native who began his professional career with the Dallas Mavericks followed by a 10 year professional career playing in Europe, Asia and South America. Dailey is now bringing the international game home with the 2012 Global Cup World Championships. Dailey Training has been training top elite men and women’s basketball players around the World since 1997.
