Top Teams Crowned at 2012 AAU Boys Basketball Championships

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (July 31, 2012) – The 2012 AAU 11th Grade Boys Division I and II National Champions have been crowned following tournament competition at the ESPN Wide world of Sports Complex.

In Division I, Arkansas’ Wings Elite, with the top-ranked defense in the Nike EYBL league, stifled Illinois Team NLP ‘s offense throughout the game to win  54-29. Leading the way for the Arkansas Wings was Bobby Portis with 16 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

In Division II, the 16U Orlando Venom defeated the 16U Rens/Riverside team from New York in overtime 62-55 in the 11th grade Division II National Championship. Orlando Venom point guard Exor Torres (Timber Creek HS) led the team with 17 points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal. This is Orlando Venom’s first AAU Division II National Championship.
