2012 AAU Basketball Championships Featured Children of LeBron James, Juwan Howard & Other Pro Athletes

Sons of Miami Heat players LeBron James and Juwan Howard participated in AAU Boys Basketball Third Grade Championship; Tournament featured children of athletes such as Jason Terry, Antonio Davis, Jerry Stackhouse and Ken Griffey, Jr.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Aug. 3, 2012) – While Miami Heat superstar LeBron James goes for gold at the Olympic Games in London, his 7-year-old son LeBron James, Jr. chased his own title at the Division 1 Amateur Athletic Union Boys Basketball National Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.  The third grader is a guard for the Miami City Ballers, a team that also includes Jett Howard, the son of James’ Miami Heat teammate Juwan Howard.

Along with LeBron Jr. and Jett, the children of current and former professional athletes such as NBA players Jason Terry, Antonio Davis and Jerry Stackhouse and MLB player Ken Griffey, Jr. also participated in this year’s tournament.

The AAU Boys and Girls Basketball National Championships involve more than 20,000 participants from across the country competing in various age groups. The tournament runs through Aug. 4 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
