ANAHEIM, Calif. (February 2, 2015) – Just hours after shouting the iconic phrase, “I’m going to Disneyland!” Julian Edelman and Malcolm Butler flew to the Disneyland Resort in Southern California to celebrate their team’s Super Bowl win. Park guests cheered as they cruised down Main Street U.S.A. in a ticker tape victory parade with Mickey Mouse.
Edelman and Butler answered the famous phrase, “What’s next?” last night, moments after the New England Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The commercial aired Sunday night, continuing a tradition that began in 1987 with Phil Simms of the New York Giants. Edelman and Butler join a star-studded lineup of sports heroes such as Emmitt Smith, Michael Jordan, Kurt Warner, Coach Jon Gruden, Joe Montana, John Elway, Jerry Rice, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Doug Williams, Magic Johnson, Patrick Roy and Eli Manning, who have been featured during two decades of “I’m going to Disneyland” commercials. It celebrates personal achievements of athletes and continues to be a magical celebration as only Disney can do.
