LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (March 6, 2015) – The Atlanta Braves (1-2) continued the first week of their spring training game schedule with a 9-8 loss to the division foe Washington Nationals (2-0) at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday, March 6.

Left-hander Alex Wood took the mound for the Braves in his first start of the spring and surrendered two runs in two innings of work. Shortstop Pedro Ciriaco hit the team’s first homerun of the spring on a solo shot in the third inning, then first baseman Freddie Freeman added a two-run homerun in the fifth. Nationals pitcher Jordan Zimmermann threw two innings for the visiting club, surrendering just one hit and no earned runs, while outfielder Tyler Moore clubbed a two-run homerun and three RBI triple in the win.
