Popular off-season training program welcoming back high school and college softball and baseball teams in 2022; More flexible travel options, plus speed and agility clinics, available for all teams starting next spring

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (June 7, 2021) – Disney Sports is relaunching its popular Disney Spring Training program at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in 2022.

Starting next spring, high school and college softball and baseball teams can again enhance their offseason training by working out like the pros for a week at Disney’s coveted sports complex in Florida, which has traditionally hosted major youth, collegiate and professional sporting events for the past two decades. In many cases, teams will train on the same fields and ballparks as the pros, as well as take part in speed and agility clinics.

The program, which runs from March 13-April 20 in 2022, will have some new features, including more flexible week-long hotel and itinerary options, plus a streamlined scheduling process, making it the ideal place for teams to escape cooler weather to train amid the Florida sunshine. In between training, team-bonding opportunities will be available, including experiences at Disney’s various theme parks and water parks.

The resumption of the spring training program, which returns with a focus on health and safety, continues Disney Sports’ history of offering spring training for high school and college teams, a tradition that has stretched more than 20 years and involved nearly 400 softball and baseball teams each year. The program has helped those high school and college teams heighten their offseason training, which in some cases has led to improved performance during the regular season.
