LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (May 27, 2023) – Basketball Hall of Famer, Ray Allen brought five teams to Walt Disney World Resort to compete for titles in the 2023 Amateur Athletic Union Memorial Day Classic.  The elite tournament is being held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from May 27-29 and features 341 teams from 11 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. Allen has coached teams in his Ray Allen Select AAU program but was supporting them from an executive role this weekend, showing support for the athletes including his youngest son Wynstan Ryan Allen (jersey number 3) who plays on the Ray Allen Select 11U/5th Grade squad.  
 
Overall, more than 3,800 players participated in the Memorial Day Classic, one of the biggest AAU tournaments of the year. The highly sought-after event sold out for the first time this year, with many teams placed on a wait list. 
 
Allen played in the NBA from 1996-2014 and was a 10-time all-star. He also won two NBA championships with the Boston Celtics (2008) and Miami Heat (2013). Allen was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
